I am very pleased to introduce Emily Berrigan as our GPC candidate for Peterborough for the fall 2008 general federal election.

Emily is taking a break from her current job as Assistant to the Chair of the Federal Council of the GPC to seek election as Member of Parliament for Peterborough.

Emily brings a wealth of Green Party experience to her candidacy, having previously served as an intern in the GPC national office, helped found the Trent Green Party, and co-managed the Green Party spring ’08 by-election campaign in Willowdale. Emily has worked with GPC leader Elizabeth May at both the GPC national office and at the Sierra Club of Canada.

A former Trent student originally from Port Hope, Emily is familiar with the economic and environmental challenges facing this region, from agriculture to health care to water and air quality. She is a former member of the Board of Directors of Families Against Radiation Exposure and has helped promote awareness around the dangers of uranium processing in this area.

Please give your support to Emily for this fall campaign, which promises to be the most successful ever for the Green Party of Canada. Financial contributions and volunteer time are urgently needed for the campaign.

Call Emily at 772-8378 to speak with her personally about the issues or to offer your support for her campaign.

See you on the campaign trail!
Brent Wood

GPC candidate for Peterborough 2004 and 2006
